Ford Wants To Add 3D Printers To Truck Beds

Over the past couple of years, Ford has continually developed new ideas for truck beds, and its latest, discovered by CarBuzz at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, shows a 3D printer becoming part of the many accessories fitted to the F-150 of the future.

This device would work in conjunction with another idea that Ford patented recently, namely a robotic arm, and could be used on construction sites to create necessary components on-site. A further embodiment of the patent suggests that the principles detailed therein could be applied to other accessories, like a mortar laying machine for repaving the roads.
