TEXAS, USA — An iconic car is getting a slick new look, and it’s being built right here in Texas!
The famous DeLorean from “Back to the Future” is back with an all new look. The company fully unveiled its gull-wing Alpha 5 EV recently, which is scheduled to come out later this year.
A San Antonio-headquartered company bought the rights to the DeLorean name and reestablished the headquarters in the Alamo City with a teaser of the vehicle unveiled during the Super Bowl.

While the car looks more like a Tesla than Marty McFly and Doc Brown’s classic ride, the car will retain its gull-wing doors.
And good news for those worried about how much power DeLorean’s electric car will have. Designers promise a top speed of 155 miles per hour.
DeLorean also indicates these possible specs belong to the base model, even though there has been no indication of performance models.
The full car is expected to be revealed in August at Pebble Beach.
